Ordinarily, lessons are sold in blocks of five and start on predetermined dates throughout the year. Students are placed in a group according to age, experience and riding skill. Students who have not ridden before or who are returning after a gap may choose to take some private lessons prior to joining their group. You may take as many private lessons as you wish.
We run a wide variety of lessons for all standards and ages of rider at the English Riding Academy here at Misty River. We have five coaches, we run seven days a week, and offer lessons for all, from beginner to advanced pupils, who may or may not, own their own horse. Lessons take place during the day and in the evenings to suit all students' personal timetables.

Our school horses are steady, experienced and patient. We have a variety of school horses available to suit all sizes and standards of rider. We teach equitation, hunters, jumpers, dressage and three day event preparation.

We have well qualified, caring coaches and we centre our lesson program on the Equine Canada National Curriculum. We keep our class sizes small, usually four students per class and never more than six. All new students receive training in grooming and tacking up and generally looking after their horse. This is free of charge. Lessons run for a full hour with half an hour of horse care required before and after riding.

Please note that all our prices are fully inclusive of coaching, horse hire, helmet hire if needed, instruction and assistance with putting on your horse's saddle and bridle, and, of course, all taxes.

There are no extras!

Set of five group lessons, payable in advance:
$250 taxes inc.
Semi private lessons are $300 for 5, and privates are $350 for 5.

Your young, budding equestrian will have an exciting and fun-filled week at our camps. Our goal is to provide horsemanship skills and horse management knowledge to your child, delivered in a safe environment alongside the campers having a ton of fun!!! Safety helmets will be provided if you do not own one of your own. Parents and other family members are encouraged to attend camp on the Friday around midday to view a demonstration of the week’s achievements.
One of the camp weeks in August will be designated an “advanced” week. To be eligible to attend this week, riders should be able to tack up unassisted and be proficient in canter for the dressage troop and be comfortable jumping small fences to be eligible for the hunter/jumper troop. Please email the ranch for more details on advanced camp dates and availability. In advanced camp, it is permissible for campers to trailer-in their own horse. Stalls and/or pasture will be allocated for students own horses. Application forms for this available on request.
